The Fisher Gold Bug 2 is an extremely sensitive gold specific metal detector. It uses the ultra-high 71 kHz frequency to deliver successful gold hauls over and over again. The Gold Bug 2 features a full range ground balance control dial to accurately tune the machine for use in gold fields with high ground mineral content. It already comes with three preset ground balance options tuned for High, Normal and Low mineralization.
Audio feedback is enhanced with the addition of Voltage Controlled Oscillator, enabling variable loudness and pitch relative to target signal strength. A special Audio Boost setting increases the minimum volume of weak signals ensuring you don’t miss out on anything. Sensitivity and Threshold settings can be easily adjusted via separate dials to make the Gold Bug more effective in different hunting conditions. Searching in high trash areas is also made better with the dedicated Iron Discrimination mode, which lets you tune out iron junk like nails.
Using 9-volt Alkaline batteries provides 25 to 35 hours of use ensuring all-day performance. Battery levels can be tested by turning the Sensitivity control. The Gold Bug can also be configurable as a hip-mounted machine if preferred. It is, however, relatively lightweight at only 2.9 lbs.
