I ended up getting a 4 silver coin spill right next the that old tree including a 1945 Washington, 1940 Washington, 1946 Rosey, and 1941 Merc. You can see on the back of one of the Washingtons where one of the other coins had been sitting against it. I’ve heard that kids used to put their change next to the trees while playing so they didn’t lose it and that could be what happened.
