We all dream it. Getting a good signal and then digging down to discover the edge of a leather coin purse or metal tin. We anxiously dig around it with our eyes wide and mouth open in anticipation. Oh please be filled with silver coins and maybe even a gold one if I’m lucky.
I was detecting an old church yard and had this happen to me. About 4 inches down I hit the edge of what I though was a coin purse. I pulled it out and stared at the little black zippered bag. It was the perfect size for coins. I shook it and it made a jingling noise and I thought I’d hit the jackpot. My dream had come true. I slowly unzipped the bag and peeked inside to discover……. A junk Catholic rosary. I sat there and laughed for a minute and then went on detecting. Maybe some day…
