Minelab GPX 4800

When Minelab designed the GPX series of metal detectors they raised the bar for all other gold detecting machines and took it to the next level. The GPX 4800 is Minelab’s most advanced gold detector, second only to the GPX 5000.

Nugget hunters can choose one of the GPX 4800’s six preset Soil/Timings modes to provide accurate response in different soil conditions, such as magnetic, alkaline etc, as well as size and conductivity of targets. Smart Electronic Timing Alignment or SETA technology makes precise calibrations effective for searching through highly magnetic rocks and soil. A separate Coil/Rx switch allows the detector to optimally use GP series and Commander Double-D coils in different conditions by altering transmission patterns and the control box’s analysis of signals.

The special Quick-Trak button on the grip assembly makes it easy to switch between Fixed and Tracking ground balance modes. In Tracking mode the machine dynamically adjusts to changes in ground mineralization levels while sweeping. It actively monitors ground conditions and eliminates erratic sounds usually associated with challenging environments. Coupled with Minelab’s Dual Voltage Technology (DVT), the GPX 4800 ensures accurate ground balance detection levels at any depth and a diverse range of ground types.

The backlit LCD screen allows quick and easy view of the GPX 4800’s extensive menu and feature set. Choose one of the three factory search modes and modify them to suit your needs.
