Minelab Excalibur II Review

The Minelab Excalibur II delivers great underwater performance comparable if not better to its predecessors. Depth performance even in salt water is very good and users find the machine’s stability to be outstanding. Operating in All Metal mode is said to go deeper than using Discrimination.

The option of interchangeable 8 and 10 inch search coils makes it a versatile machine to own.

Many have suggested to use a straight shaft because the stock shaft’s ergonomics is not very comfortable. The included headphones are a new design and users report them to be more comfortable than previous stock headphones.

Pros:

  • Stable performance even in salt water
  • Good Pinpoint
  • Comfortable Koss headphones
  • Versatile 8 or 10 inch interchangeable coil option

Cons:

  • Ergonomics
  • Discrimination doesn’t work as deep as All Metal mode
